ManiMonday #2 - Navy and Silver
(courtesy of ElfSacks)
I love fall and winter nail colors. They are deeper, richer and so much more dramatic than summer or spring. This navy and silver combo is classy while bringing fun flair to your nails. Even better? It's easy! No special tapes or dot pens. Clean and simple. Give it a try!

MaliBooty Workout
I did this popular Pinterest workout three days ago and my body is still screaming in glorious, post-burn pain. The MaliBooty Workout comes from the fabulous ladies over at Tone It Up. Karena and Katrina are frequently featured in SELF Magazine and they continue to take the fitness world by storm with their healthy and happy centric exercises. The MaliBooty Workout focuses on your booty and thighs, as well as secretly working out your core.
If you want to skip the video and get the gist of the workout, check out this really great GIF collage. (I recommend watching the full video if you are going to give it a go just to make sure you get the technique right.)
Give the workout a try and let me know what you think!

ManiMonday #1
I'm dedicating my first ever ManiMonday to my favorite nail polish of all time: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure.
Confession: I am terrible at painting my own nails. I don't understand why I have to do so many coats, not to mention I don't have the patience to let them all dry in between. They always end up with bubbles, smears or wrinkles... or all three.
I found the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure collection at Walgreens and instantly fell in love. Two coats and I'm done! It really couldn't be much easier. Plus, there's a rainbow of colors to choose from. My favorites are Golden Rule (above) and Back to the Fuchsia. Now there's no excuse for me to have naked nails.
Do you have a favorite nail color brand?

Two Monks and Water
Every once in a while, I come across an anecdote that makes me really think. I think this is brilliant and therefore am passing it along to you.
One monk meets another monk in the hall of a monastery near a fountain. The first monk asks the second, "Is that water cold?"
The second monk responds by pushing the first into the fountain.
The first monk clamors to his feet, sopping wet. "What did you do that for?"
The second monk states, "I could have told you all day if I thought the water was cold, but this way, now you know."

Making the Ordinary Extraordinary
I live an ordinary life. I have an ordinary job and have ordinary hobbies. I live in an ordinary town, in an ordinary house, on an ordinary street. I haven't had any life experiences that are worth of a "Today Show" visit or a Lifetime movie (thank god for the latter, because you know that wouldn't be good). I've never been on a reality show, though I love to watch them. I've never won a contest, except for winning a copy of Season 1 of Mad Men from Self Magazine a few years ago. My life is simply ordinary.
However...
My perspective on life is not... ordinary. I chose to view everything in everyday as extraordinary.
That's not to say I have this psychedelic view on the world. I mean that I celebrate the "ordinary" aspects of my life everyday because to someone else it may seem extraordinary.
Let that sink in a minute. Deep, I know.
I have been the author of a craft blog for over a year now (The Creative Cubby) and have loved the experience of connecting with crazy glue gun obsessed people like myself. I stepped back and took a look at my life realizing there's so much more in my life that I'd like to celebrate, explore and share with others. So here you have it. The blog for the other side of the blogger. Don't get it? Don't worry... neither do I. We'll figure it out together.
What you can expect are some hilarious viral pictures and videos, rants about the Real Housewives and Instagrams. Seem boring? Guess what... that's an ordinary life. Welcome.
